The Hortin Child Development Center (CDC), located on the grounds of Christ United Methodist Church, has been serving the downtown St. Pete area since 1991. Named after Paul R. Hortin (pastor at CUMC for more than 40 years), the Hortin CDC's mission is to enrich the lives of children ages 2-5 and their families by providing fulltime quality care and education in an affordable, nurturing, Christian environment.
Hours of Operation
The center is open year round 6:30 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday with the exception of the following holidays:
New Year's Day
Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after
Christmas Eve (possibly 1 or 2 additional days)
Each staff member has a Bachelors degree in Education, an AA degree, or the CDA (Child Development Associate) Credential. They also participate in at least 8 hours of continuing education training each year as well as maintain current First Aid and CPR certifications.
