Pastor
Reverend Dawn Worden

A native of Rochester, NY, Rev. Worden returns to the Saint Pete area where she had previously served as the first female Associate Pastor of First UMC. She went on to serve as the Senior Pastor at First South Miami and St. John’s on the Lake (a Reconciling Church in Miami Beach). An advocate of social justice and missions, her passions stem from aiding communities as an attorney in Washington and Georgia. She and her husband Doug Day, of 29 years, have two sons ages 25 and 20.
She started her servcie at Christ UMC in July 2021, with the goal of starting new ministries and growing the church community in lock-step with the vibrant city of Saint Pete.
Rev. Worden is also the liaison to the Argentine Evangelical Methodist church for the Florida Annual Conference. Her background in Spanish, economics, and third-world development has played a major role in cementing ties between the two churches; creating a new form of missionary work that centers around friendship building.
